Your
gift to MEC can continue to give long into the future with
substantial benefits to you and your family during your lifetime.
MEC offers a variety of ways to protect and sustain Michigans
environment in the coming decades.
Endowment
Fund
The Pere Marquette Fund works off its earnings.
The income generated is used to fund special programs and cover
capital expenditures. Your investment in the permanent endowment
fund will sustain the organization long into the future.
Planned
Giving
You may grant a gift from your estate to MEC
through a will or living trust. Many donors establish a particular
amount, while others provide for their families first and designate
the remainder to charity. Additional options include leaving
a paid-up life insurance policy, retirement account or other
investments.
Appreciated
Securities
Stock that has been held for more than one year
can be used to make a gift to MEC. You receive a charitable
income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock.
Both you and MEC benefit when the stock is sold by MEC, since
there will be no capital gains tax.
Annual Giving
You can pledge a gift to be given yearly, in
any amount you choose. These gifts help us meet our annual financial
needs and are essential to our continued operation.
Workplace
Giving
One of the most simple and efficient ways to donate to the Michigan
Environmental Council is by contributing through Earth Share
of Michigan in your workplace charity campaign. Earth Share
of Michigan (ESMI) manages environmental giving campaigns in
workplaces for state, national and international conservation
charities.
